Friends of Jason Statts have planned a benefit to help subsidize the medical assistance that Statts, a quadriplegic as a result of violent crime, requires.
The Saturday, September 17, event will be held at Grayson Stadium (1401 Victory Drive) from 3-8 p.m. This fundraiser will feature food trucks, a silent auction, lots of kids’ activities and Savannah’s best local bands throughout the event including: Joe Nelson and James Pittman, City Hotel, Waits & Co., The Train Wrecks and Bottles & Cans and more.
On June 28, 2008, Jason Statts, a professional graphic designer, local musician, 1996 SCAD graduate and overall amazing guy, was shot point blank in the neck and suffered irreparable damage to his spinal column.
Since then, he has relied on government assistance to cover his mounting medical costs, and the support of his friends and family to keep him smiling. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 at friendsofstatts.com or the day of the event for $20. Children 12 & under free with adult.
