Recently, Skidaway Island United Methodist Church (SIUMC) announces that they will be welcoming former American Traditions Competition (ATC) winner and Artistic Consultant, Vale Rideout, to perform at their first concert of the new year.

This recital is part of the Arts on Skidaway series which features free or significantly discounted tickets for a series of seven concerts running from fall 2014 to spring 2015 in the beautiful sanctuary at SIUMC, 24 Diamond Causeway. Taking place at 7pm on the evening of Thursday January 15th 2015, Vale Rideout returns to Savannah to perform a recital of art songs and opera, which thanks to SIUMC, is free for all to attend.

Justin Addington, Director of Music & Worship at SIUMC, said “This concert series is our church’s gift back to the community and we are delighted that Vale Rideout has agreed to appear on January 15th. We enjoy a close relationship with the ATC and are delighted to be hosting their quarter and semi-finals from February 23-25th 2015.”

Vale Rideout, the ATC’s Artistic Consultant and 2006 winner said “I am thrilled to be once again performing in Savannah and enjoying working with Karla Rocker, my Accompanist for the recital. We are planning a delightful 90 minute program (with one intermission) for January 15th including some Johnny Mercer, a few arias, songs from the Muppet Movie and other popular songs including a range of music from World War II”.
