Flint Named Superintendent’s Student of the Month for November

The Superintendent’s Student of the Month for November is Nicholas Derek Flint, an eighth grade student from Coastal Middle School. Nick was selected for his outstanding achievements academically and socially. Nick’s peers are fond of him and he is admired by his teachers and other faculty members for his ability to fix almost anything related to technology. Principal Kerry Coursey states, “Nick is an excellent, well-rounded student that truly enjoys learning and is always willing to help others. He is very talented, with both technology and music.”

Continuous High Honor Roll, Jazz Band Member, State Technology Student Association Award Winner , National Technology Student Association Award Winner, PTSA Reflections State Winner in Music Composition, CRCT 900 Club (perfect scores in Math and ELA), Regional Science and Engineering Fair Award Winner, National Junior Honor Society, Coastal Middle School Morning News Team Member, and AASU Piano Festival Participant are just a few of his accomplishments, all while maintaining a 4.0 cumulative GPA.

When asked what motivates him to strive for academic success, he quoted Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Nick also replied, “This quote inspires me because I like knowing that every action I do now better prepares me to serve the Lord in my life.”

The Superintendent’s Student of the Month program recognizes individual students who have excelled in the area of academics, leadership, and community service. Nicholas Derek Flint was recognized by Superintendent, Thomas B. Lockamy Jr., Ed.D., at the regular board meeting. He was presented with an award plaque and a $100 savings bond.
