Many Savannah residents are expected to celebrate the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday by making the Annual Day of Service a day on, not a day off by volunteering to feed the hungry and the homeless on Saturday, January 19th beginning at 11:00 a.m.
First Nazareth has planned a day of service that will leverage the strength of local citizens to help tackle local problems and advance King’s dream of opportunity for all. Volunteers in Savannah will join hundreds of thousands of Americans who are participating in MLK Day of Service projects in all fifty states.
This national day of service honors Dr. King’s legacy and commitment to transforming our nation through service to others. This milestone is a perfect opportunity for Americans to help advance economic opportunity and take action to solve problems in their communities.
First Nazareth with the assistance of local volunteers will provide a meal for those in need and prepare brown bags meals to go. If you would like to volunteer please contact Debbie Walker at 912-927-7601 or Lisa Sampson at 404-808-0135.
