The Savannah Arts Academy Choir Department will hold a second benefit concert just in time for Valentine’s Day! Mrs. Diane Stallings and the Savannah Arts Academy Women’s Cantabile have been invited to take part in a May 2012 performance at New York’s historic Carnegie Hall. SAA has 61 girls in the Women’s Choir that will take part in this event. For the trip, 75 boys have been added to join choirs from around the country in a performance of the Rutter Requiem. The trip will take place May 25-29 with the performances being held on Memorial Day 2012.
In support of this trip, a benefit concert is being held Thursday, February 16th, to help the chorus raise funds for various expenses. The benefit concert was organized by the Savannah Arts Choral Board and is set to take place at the First Baptist Church of the Islands on Thursday, February 16th at 7:00pm. Donations will be accepted at the door. The First Baptist Church of the Islands is located at 6613 Johnny Mercer Blvd., Savannah GA, 31410. The community is invited to attend.
