On Saturday, July 20th, 2019 Operation Changing the World One STEM at a time and Founder, Ambria Berksteiner, hosted their First Annual Women in STEM Scholarship tea. During this celebratory event, women were recognized and honored for their considerable achievement and relentless support for the Savannah -Chatham County STEM community. Their efforts to support STEM education have impacted our youth and others within the Savannah community and beyond. Through their service they have educated, enlightened, and empowered many young women to succeed in the areas of STEM.
Operation Changing the One STEM at a Time dedicated the first Savannah Women In STEM Magazine to the Honorable Dr. Margaret C. Robinson, who was introduced by former who was honored with the Meritorious STEM Legacy Award along with other community STEM Change Agents featuring– Dr.Frita Fisher, Dr. Yolanda Oglesby Johnson, Dr. Karla-Sue Marriot, Whitney Holt, The 100 Black Men of Savannah, and many others.
The audience represented all aspects of the Savannah Community and the event left a lasting impression to continue to educate, enlighten, and empower. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Operation One STEM at a Time Change Agent Scholarship fund, which will be presented in January 2020 to a Savannah-Chatham County Public School young women who plans to major in a STEM related field.
