Eight Tigers Earn MEAC Baseball Academic Honors

The Savannah State baseball team had eight student-athletes earn Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) All-Academic honors in an announcement from the MEAC office Wednesday, May 18, 2016.

Making the list from SSU were Bernard Barnes, Rexford Davis, Somto Egbuna, Jacob Lightle, Giancarlo Mirabal, Joseph Polanski, Charles Sikes and Brandon Whitmore.

The MEAC recognizes student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, including sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as transfer student-athletes, who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year.

Ninety-one (91) student-athletes were recognized for achieving academic success during the 2015- 16 school year.

Davis, Mirabal, Sikes and Whitmore recently earned their undergraduate degrees from Savannah State.
