On Tuesday, August 2, the Edgemere/Sackville Neighborhood Association hosted their celebration of the 28th Annual National Night Out at the Antioch Building owned by Dr. J. Alphonso Dandy at 3840 Waters Ave.
The event gave residents the opportunity to heighten their awareness of crime by being actively engaged with community police officers from Precinct 5.
Those in attendance also learned more about fire rescue and safety with firefighters from Station 1, and with Ms. Margosia Jadkowski of the City of Savannah’s Department of Water Conservation, residents received tips and free kits to assist the City of Savannah in efforts to conserve water.
Also in attendance were Alderman at Large Edna Jackson, District 3 Alderman Larry Stuber and Darlene Jackson, Community Services Neighborhood Coordinator.
We were excited that families from our community came out to be become reac- quainted and to establish neighborhood friendships. Residents enjoyed beverages, prizes and other treats from local businesses.
Children enjoyed face painting along with a crime prevention coloring book, bookmarks and crayons.
The Association thanks those businesses that contributed to our celebration and helped make it a success.
