This is a two part Event:
Morning Session: 2018 Tax Year Debriefing and Planning Period for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. We will highlight how VITA (free tax preparation) encourages taxpayers to use their refunds for Economic Advancement, impact of the VITA Program on the Community and how we can capture more taxpayers who can benefit from Assets Building Programs. Afternoon Session: Discussions about Georgia Work Credit Conversations concerning how policy solutions like the Georgia Work Credit can help more families in Savannah achieve financial success. Expected Participants:
Community leaders, Elected officials, State policy experts, Volunteer tax preparers and other Stakeholders.
Conversations will include economic barriers and opportunities facing the community and ways we can advocate for policies to make a difference.
