Early Voting Gets Underway

Registration Deadline is October 6

Savannah Mayor Otis Johnson, along with other Savannah leaders and residents voted early in person on Monday, September 22nd.

Although Early Voting has started for the November 4 Election, citizens may still register until October 6 and vote in this historic election.

This is the first election under GA’s new laws which allows people to absentee vote in person without giving a reason. An historic voter turnout is expected this year which means long lines on election day and everyone is urged to vote now at your county registrar’s office if possible.

If you are a registered Chatham County voter, you can vote in person at the main voter registration office at 1117 Eisenhower Drive, Suite E during normal business hours from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.. You can also request an absentee ballot by mail or fax by calling Chatham County voter registration at 912.790.1520 or visit their website at Chatham County voting website. You can also visit the Georgia’s Secretary of State’s website for early voter information.

Other Advance Voting Sites: 1117 Eisenhower Drive, Suite E, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (M, W & F) and 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (T, TH); Savannah Civic Center, 301 W Oglethorpe Avenue, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; Mosquito Control, 65 Billy B. Hair Drive, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; and Wilmington Island Library, 125 Wilmington Island Road, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Please note that you cannot vote on the day immediately preceding the Tuesday election. Traditional polling places will be open on Election Day. However, if you choose to advance vote, you cannot cast another ballot at your precinct on Election Day.
