Dump the Pump

Chatham Area Transit (CAT) in partnership with the City of Savannah and the Savannah Bicycle Campaign are promoting “Dump the Pump Day” on Thursday, June 17, 2010.

The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about the benefits of using alternative modes of transportation and to encourage people throughout the community (employees, residents, students, shoppers and diners) to commute by walking, riding bicycles, skateboards, scooters, carpooling and public transportation.

Chatham Area Transit is offering “free rides” on all of its fixed route buses for the entire day.

CAT will again participate in the 2nd Annual Dump the Pump Challenge – a race between a cyclist, bus commuter and car commuter which begins from the 12 Oaks Shopping Center on Abercorn Street and ends downtown at City Hall.

For more information on the event, contact Valerie Ragland at (912) 629-3924 or visit our website at www.catchacat.org.
