On January 27, Kurt Faxon, president of the Landings Amateur Athletic Foundation, announced three donations to junior golf programs in the Savannah area.

These donations were a result of the USGAWomen’s State Team Championship held at The Landings Club this past October and were distributed as follows: The First Tee of Savannah – $2,500, Savannah Junior Golf – $1,500, GSGA Jr. Sectional Program (Southeast) – $1,500.

Bill Bayfield, vice-president of the foundation, stated, “…our goal was to execute a Golf Championship that would bring pride to The Landings Club and the entire Coastal Empire and also raise enough funds to lend support to local junior golf programs.”

Martha Kirouac, a member of the USGA Women’s Committee and chair of this championship, added “The Landings Club and the Palmetto course performed extremely well. Our thanks to the staff and the members for their support and participation.”
