Discipline your mind so that you will be able to guard your heart, which is very important! Discipline your mind; train your mind to think God’s thoughts, positive thoughts. Philippians 4:8 let us know that we are to fix our thoughts on what is true, good and right; to think about things that are pure and lovely.
We are to dwell on the fine, good things in other. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about it. (Living Bible)
One may ask, “How will I be able to think God’s thoughts”) My response would be to read and meditate in HIS Words as the scripture says in Joshua 1:8. The enemy will try to keep you busy doing other things which may seem important to us in order to keep us from reading and meditation in HIS Word. The enemy knows that in HIS Word (The Holy Bible) is Life. The word and God (Jesus) are inseparable. Remember Jesus says in John 10:10. The thief’s (Satan) purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.
We all would like to live a joyous, happy life, however, a peaceful, prosperous (spiritually successful life) begins with “getting to know Him (Jesus) and obeying HIM.” Isaiah 26:3 lets us know that He (God) will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in HIM, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord. (Living Bible) There are so many distractions in our society today until one may find it somewhat difficult to keep his or her mind on the Lord. Perhaps many of you already know that we are now experiencing “Spiritual Warfare” with satanic forces in a great way. This does not mean you are to be frightened by pervious statement – instead we must draw nearer to God in prayer and live in the WORD (Bible) and by the word often. We must put on (spiritually) the whole armor of God, so as to be able to stand against the wiles (tricks and strategies) of the devil…Ephesians 6:11.
Most important to remember, we are not fighting against people make of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies – the evil rulers of the unseen world, those satanic beings and evil princes of darkness of this world; and against wicked spirits in the spirit world…Ephesians 6:12 (Living Bible). This is to enlighten us how to be strong in the Lord (not in ourselves) and in His mighty power within you (Ephesians 6:10). God wants us to cleanse our minds and hearts, not just our bodies…Jeremiah 4:4 (Living Bible). Here is where you begin: 1. Realize you need the Lord as never before and admit you are not living as the Bible tells us to live. 2. Ask God to forgive you for all of the wrongs you have done which is sin (we were born in sin, it is our nature to sin. This is the reason we must be born again, spiritually in order to have eternal life with God). 3. Invite Him (Jesus) to come into your heart, by faith. Ask Him to make, mold and shape you in His image.
After you repent of your sins (change your mind about sinning). Your are to let the Lord do a work in you. He will change you as you yield to Him. He will mold and shape you as you allow Him to be your Lord and Savior. In other words, as you let Him be your boss, as you let Him run your affairs from now on. Remember the saying “let go and let God” and “Not my will, but thing be done.” Just trust HIM – he knows best…rest in the Lord – refuse to get upset knowing God is in charge of your life once you give it to Him.
When Jesus is in charge, the Holy Spirit (the third person in the God head) will lead and guide you into all truths…John 16:13. Learn to listen to His still small voice. Please note God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost (spirit) are one…John 17:22, John 14:26. Refuse to obey and listen to the Anti-Christ spirit, which is trying to dominate so many lives today.
You cannot (so call) straddle the fence. If you are for God, serve God, if you are for Satan serves Satan. The Bible tells us, you cannot serve two masters, you will love one and hate the other Read Matthew 6:24.
