“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

On Sunday, September 18, 2011, the Connor’s Temple Baptist Church family will “Praise God, from whom all blessings flow” as Harvest Day 2011 is celebrated. For truly God’s blessings has and continues to guide, protect, and sustain the congregation during these troubling times.

The Harvest Day celebration will begin with Sunday School at 8:30 a.m. and will be followed by the Morning Worship service at 10:00 a.m.

Reverend Lolita L. Hickman, who served as assistant to the late Pastor Bennie R. Mitchell, Jr. for about three and a half years and is currently serving as one of the Associates of Pastoral Ministries for Connor’s Temple, will deliver the Harvest Day sermon.

Upon moving to Savannah in 2007, Rev. Hickman and her husband affiliated with Connor’s Temple and Rev. Hickman has been blessed to preach, teach, conduct revivals, facilitate Women’s Retreats and Bible Studies throughout the Savannah area, as well as in Maryland, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia and Illinois.

She has great passion for the exposition of the Word of God and a compassionate sense of urgency concerning salvation and discipleship of God’s people. Her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education and her Master of Science in Organizational Development degrees were received from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, Illinois.

She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, grew up next door to Southern Tabernacle Baptist Church in Brooklyn, Illinois, where she accepted Christ at the age of 8 and sang with the Young Adult Choir. Early in life Rev. Hickman professed a calling on her life to sing for the lord and continues to lift the name of Jesus in song.

Rev. Hickman is happily married to Bro. Norval “Joe” Hickman. Together they are the proud parents of three adult children, Tracey A. Randolph (Wayne), Nichelle Hickman-Thomas, and Norval, III; and one grand-daughter, Paris.

The public is invited to come and share in this Harvest Day worship and thanksgiving service as this woman of God proclaims God’s Word and the Connors Temple combined choir sings praises unto the lord, for He is truly worthy to be praised. The Church Deacons.
