Connor’s Temple to Celebrate 93rd Church Anniversary

On March 15, 2020 at 10:00 AM, Connor’s Temple Baptist Church will celebrate the church’s 93rd Anniversary. In January 1927 a small group of Christian brethren and sisters came together with a vision to organize a church and on March 14, 1927 a group of 83 people began to fulfill that vision.

The anniversary message will be delivered by Pastor David Chavis, Senior Pastor of First Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Savannah, Georgia. Before becoming pastor of First Friendship, he served as an Associate Minister at Happy Home Missionary Baptist Church, Savannah, Ga.

Pastor Chavis is a Veteran of the United States Army. He is a Bi-Vocational pastor who also works in Senior Operations for Crane Worldwide, and currently serves on the board of Fathers Mentoring Sons Organization. His vision is to help others grow in the kingdom, love everybody, find their purpose, and reach the unreached. He is described as an anointed and dynamic leader who is humble and outgoing, and one that has a passion for God’s people.

Pastor Chavis has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Columbia College and is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity at Regent University. He and his wife Rasheema are the parents of four children: A’lice, Aubre, Isaiah, and Malachi.

Music for the anniversary program will be provided by the Connor’s Temple Mass Choir. The public is extended a cordial invitation to come and share in this celebratory service which is being chaired by Sis. Salanthia Dumas and Bro. George Eckles, co- Chair. Dea. Charles Johnson is Chairman of Deacons.
