Volunteers Needed
Share your time and special talents with others, join the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of EOA, we need your help to help others. Through RSVP seniors 55 and older serve in various community organizations from 1 to 40 hours per week. Make your choice of where you want to serve from the many local agencies we are afflicted with.Qualification are to be 55, want to enjoy life and have the desire to share your personal talents with others. Armstrong Atlantic State

University (AASU) will host a Pirate Preview Open House on Saturday, October 3 at 9 a.m. in the Armstrong Center, 13040 Abercorn Street in Savannah. The event is free and the public is invited. Faculty, staff, and current students will be on hand with information about scholarships, financial aid, admission requirements, degree programs, student life, and other services and programs offered at Armstrong Atlantic. Attendees will get acquainted with university life, tour student housing and learn about new freshmen housing coming in 2010.

The First Steps Parents of Newborns program pairs volunteers with new families in the hospital setting to provide emotional support, parenting education materials, and referrals to community resources. The YMCA of Coastal Georgia invites you to the 20th Anniversary Heart of Savannah 5K Road Race & _ Mile Kiddie Fun Run.City Market/Historic Savannahn Saturday, October 3, 2009 Make it Matter Storytelling Event at 5:30 p.m.1/4mile Kiddie run begins at 6:00 p.m. 5K Road Race & Walk begins at 6:20 p.m.All proceeds from the event will benefit the Priceless Gifts Annual Fund. This fund helps the YMCA of Coastal Georgia to provide financial assistance to those who otherwise would not be able to afford program or membership fees. Kiddie Run is FREE and open to all registered children. 5K is $30 through October 1st; $35 October 2nd through Race Day.
