Have you ever wondered how it might feel to be approaching 100 years old and be in sound mind, body and spirit? Then you might want to talk with long-time retired educator and community volunteer, Mrs. Sadie D. Steele, who will turn 100 September 10, 2011.
The Sadie D. Steele Centennial Birthday Committee has planned a huge celebration for Mrs. Steele on her birthday – Saturday, September 10, 2011 – 4:00P.M. – 6:00P.M. at the EOA Aaron L. Buchsbaum Learning Center.
Mrs. Steele has been actively involved in an array of religious, community and public service organizations. Some of these organizations include: Bunn Memorial Baptist Church; Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.- Savannah Alumnae Chapter; Chatham County & Georgia Retired Teachers Association; Savannah State University Alumni Association; Cuyler–Brownville Neighborhood Association; King Tisdell Cottage Foundation; NAACP; Haven Home Alumni Association and the Rogers Family Reunion Association.
