During the Holiday season, Americans will spend an average of $207.07 on candy, decorations, greeting cards, postage and flowers alone. This holiday season, what about giving the gift that keeps on giving…. helping to provide at-risk students access to a safe space?
So many at-risk students struggle with unimaginable traumas and adult-sized problems, and sometimes, it’s their safety and citizenship at stake. Communities In Schools is the only education based non-profit in Savannah who is there every day – all day – during the school day, to provide these kids with steady support and care giving them the comfort and security of at least one safe space.
In 2016-2017 eighty eight percent of our CIS Savannah students improved their attendance, 98% witnessed academic gains, and 99% were promoted to the next grade. Our goal moving forward is to utilize our evidence based model to serve more Savannah-Chatham County students. In Georgia, CIS has an 89% graduation rate among the students that we serve – that’s more than 8% higher than the state average. Will you step up to make sure more kids get the support and safety they need to thrive in 2018 and beyond?
Give with confidence, change a student’s life! Communities In Schools recently received our eighth consecutive fourstar rating from Charity Navigator, highlighting just how powerful your gift can be. For as little as $200 per child (or $15 a month), we are able to keep our most atrisk students in school. The students we serve can’t wait – this is their only chance at an education.
