Colonel McArthur Holmes Announces Candidacy For Sheriff


Surrounded by family and friends, Colonel McArthur Holmes, a retired Chatham County Sheriff’s officer, announced Monday his intent to run for the office of Sheriff for Chatham County in the Special Election on March 1, 2015.

Colonel Holmes worked for the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office over thirty three years and brings that same amount of law enforcement experience to the table. He ran for the office of Chatham County Sheriff in 2012 against the late Sheriff Al St. Lawrence, losing by a mere 1.24% according to Chatham County Board of Elections.

Holmes major campaign issues include gun violence and crime in Chatham County.
