Minister Alphonso Anderson, Sr. is a native of Syracuse New York and the son of the late Rev & Mrs. Charles W. Anderson Sr. of Syracuse, New York. He is the fifth of fourteen siblings and one of four Ministry of the GOSPEL in the family.
He is a graduate of William Nottingham High School in Syracuse New York and attended Atlanta Metro College and Georgia State University. He has two children, Alphonso, Jr. and Dorian R. Anderson. He is married to the former Sis. Faith May.
The Lord has called and he answered and accepted God’s Calling to the Gospel on August 24, 1994 being licensed by Pastor Aaron Jones Sr. of Word of God Tabernacle Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia.
As one who has given evidence of a Calling by God into Ministry as the Gospel Ministry and was licensed to function in Ministry as the opportunity may be presented, and to exercise God-Given Gifts in Ministry; Licensed by Pastor Shawn Henderson of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, 1428 Fairwood Avenue, Columbus, Ohio on October 24, 1999.
Minister Anderson joined Second Arnold Baptist Church January 2007. He preached his first sermon on March 25, 2007. He took his text from Matthew 14:22- 32 – “Are You a Wet Water Walker or a Dry Boat Rider?”
He is a member of Sunday School Class No. 8; Christian Education Ministry, The Brotherhood Ministry and the Deacons, Ministers and Wives Ministry.
He was Interim Pastor of Mt. Herman Baptist Church and Abercorn Baptist Church for 3 months.
Minister Anderson’s focus and Purpose is being on God’s “ Great Commission” Matthew 28: 19-20 “Making Disciples of all nations baptizing them in the Trinity, Teaching and Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ as he has commanded me” and The “Great Commandments” Matthew 22:37-39 emphasizing “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
