“It is something that I look forward to every year,” says Savannah Mayor Edna Jackson. “It’s camaraderie and friendly competition at the same time,” adds Savannah Jazz Hall of Famer Teddy Adams. These two quotes eloquently describe the Coastal Jazz Association’s 40th Annual Christmas Jam Concert. It is a gathering and homecoming concert and jam session, with many local and regional jazz singers and musicians participating. It’s also a fundraiser for jazz scholarships. The concert is to be held at the historical and beautiful Savannah Station, 601 Cohen Street, Savannah, GA 31401, on Christmas Day, Friday December 25th, 2015, from 5:00-8:00pm.
On the heels of a very successful 34th Annual Savannah Jazz Festival, the Coastal Jazz Association (CJA) continues fulfilling its mission, to keep Jazz alive in Savannah and preserve its rich history. CJA also has a mission in fundraising and providing scholarships to jazz student musicians. In addition to its monthly Sunday Jazz Series Concerts and the Savannah Jazz Festival, Coastal Jazz Association is also responsible for the Savannah Jazz Hall of Fame.
