Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent Financial-Coastal Advantage Group Host Faith Build Home Dedication

The Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity, Thrivent Financial, local congregations and members of the community will come together to dedicate the “Faith Build House” on Tuesday, January 28th at 9:30 am in Garden City’s Rossignol Hill neighborhood at 4108 6th Street . This home was built through a partnership between Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity, Thrivent Financial and local congregations. Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity competitively submitted and was awarded funds to participate in the Faith Build program. The land for the house was donated to Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity through a partnership between Garden City Housing Team and Queensborough National Bank.

Congregations and other faith based organizations that participated in the Faith Build through volunteering and monetary donations include: Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church, Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, White Bluff Presbyterian , Isle of Hope United Methodist Church, Saint James Catholic Church, Jasper Springs Baptist Church, Midway United Methodist Church, Saint Thomas Thrift Store, First Presbyterian Church, Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, Saint Joseph’s Angels of Mercy, Community Bible Church, Gateway Church .

Habitat for Humanity’s national partnership with Thrivent Financial blends together the financial, advocacy and resources of Thrivent Financial in supporting the build. Thrivent matches up to $50,000 of the money raised by the participating congregations. To date, combined efforts have resulted in more than 5.2 million volunteer hours donated by more than 727,000 Thrivent members and other volunteers as part of the Habitat and Thrivent partnership nationally.
