On Wednesday, January 26, the search for Savannah’s new City Manager was narrowed to two.
Mayor Otis Johnson announced the Council had reached a consensus, and the two candidates moving forward would be Alfred Lott, current city manager of Albany, Ga., and Rochelle Small-Toney, current acting city manager, of Savannah.
The Mayor has also instructed the council members to form committees that will travel to Albany to conduct interviews with Lott, and committees to stay here to interview Small-Toney.
After those interviews, the council will decide where they go from there. The Mayor made it clear that if a decision cannot be made based on the two candidates, that the process can begin again. “That option is there,” he said.
