Protocol was established by our president, Mrs. Virginia Edwards. Retiree Jeanette Scott brought an interesting inspirational. The wearing of the green was in keeping with the Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration. It was discovered that we had one new member in our midst, Mrs. Queen Barnes. Aside from two March Birthmonth Celebrants, namely; Mrs. Katherine Redden and Mrs. Betty Ellington. We wished them well. Last month’s minutes were read and the Treasurer’s report were given as information and approved.
Our committee chairpersons reported in depth. Several of our retirees reported to East Broad Street School to read to some of the students last month.
The Publicity Chairperson completed the Publicity Book; turned it over to President Edwards and she forwarded it on to the State Department for evaluation. The Necrology Chairperson turned in seven names of deceased retirees namely; Mrs. Louvinia Countess Young Merriman, Elder George Everett, Mrs. Ruth B. Williams, Mr. William Gerken, Mr. Jack H. Wynne, Mrs. Vernell Gardener and Mr. Thomas Klein. A silent prayer was said in their honor.
