CAT Launches eCommerce Ticket Service

Chatham Area Transit has implemented a convenient new method for customers to obtain bus passes.

With the launch of a new online purchasing site Monday, customers can now order their passes online and have them delivered to their home.

The online ordering platform allows riders to purchase the type of bus pass that is right for them, including full-day, weekly and monthly passes. Those that qualify for the discount program also will be able to purchase half-fare passes online. CAT Mobility tickets can also be purchased by eligible riders to use for the paratransit service for people with disabilities.

Once purchased, customers can have the passes mailed to them or they can choose to pick them up at the Joe Murray Rivers Jr. lntermodal Transit Center, 610 W. Oglethorpe Avenue.

Delivery cost is $2 for first class postage and $4 for certified mail. Visa, Mastercard and Discover are accepted.

CAT officials also are reviewing proposals for a mobile ticketing platform that will allow customers to buy passes using their smartphones, which would then serve as an alternate to paper passes. Until that time, the new online ordering platform launched Monday provides customers with some of the benefits provided by mobile ticketing, including the ability to avoid having to purchase an allday pass or other multi-ride passes ticket on a bus or at the downtown transit center.

The web link can be found on CAT’s website, catchacat.org, under the Fares & Discounts menu or go to pass.catchacat.org/ to go directly to the purchasing page.
