CAT Is Moving To Another Level

Chatham Area Transit (CAT) is pleased to announce the purchase of four, 27-foot buses that are tailored to meet the needs of fixed bus routes with low ridership. They will comfortably seat 14 persons along with two wheelchairs. The buses have been identified as the CAT CUB.

The purchase of these buses underlines CAT’s commitment to communities and the need to tailor service to the needs of said communities. Initially, one of these buses will be used on the Route 13 Coffee Bluff which serves portions of the White Bluff, Windsor Forest, Greenbriar and Coffee Bluff communities. And, the Route 20 Montgomery/Skidaway Island which serves portions of the Whitefield, Isle of Hope and Skidaway Island communities.

CAT CUB buses made their debut during the St. Patrick’s Day parade on Saturday, March 16, 2013. They will officially be placed into service on Monday, April 8, 2013.
