CASA Presents 4th Annual Dancing with the Stars Competition

On Thursday, November 10, 2011, 12 Savannah Stars will compete for one of the four categories: best female dancer, best male dancer, overall fundraiser and Viewer’s Choice at the 4th Annual Dancing with Savannah Stars that will be hosted by Savannah/Chatham Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Inc.

The 20 year nonprofit organization, Savannah/Chatham CASA, trains and supports volunteers to speak out and act as advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children.

They are trained to work within the child welfare and family court systems and are appointed by judges to individual cases. With the help of a CASA volunteer, a child is half as likely to languish in the foster care system, and that much more likely to find a safe and permanent home. The local program supports over 80 volunteers that currently provides advocacy for 209 children in Chatham County.

The 2011 Dancing with Savannah Stars celebrity contestants competing next week are: Jesse Blanco, WJCL/FOX-TV The Coastal Source; Heather Burge, Bleu Belle Bridal Boutique, Inc.; Kenya Cabine, E93 FM/Cumulus Broadcasting; Ashlea Hilliard Carson, Carey Hilliard’s Restaurant; Al Deutsch, Southside Auto & Golf Car Repair; Chris Donegan, Control Southern; Ginger Fawcett, Liquid Ginger; Isa Holloway, Coastal Acupuncture; April Johnston, Mangled Courtesan; Don Logana, WTOC-TV; Katy Moretz, Savannah Neurology Specialists; Melissa Phillips, Hussey, Gay, Bell & DeYoung Engineers and Architects.
