Coastal Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce that Carver State Bank has joined in partnership and will begin servicing Habitat’s Partner Families and their loans in early 2015.

“We are delighted by Carver State Bank’s generosity and commitment to step forward and be a true partner in the community. We are so excited that a local Bank, who has grown in this city and community, is leading by example to help assist families in need” said Coastal Empire HFH Executive Director, Michael Weathers. “And we are so appreciative that Robert James and his team at Carver State Bank have stepped forward to work with Habitat Savannah in not only the servicing aspect but also in providing banking and credit services to the families”.

Carver has a tremendous heritage within the Savannah-Chatham County area as an innovative financial service leader for 85 years. Carver has been successful because of its loyal customers and the astute judgment, leadership and hard work of its directors, management and other employees.

Carver is a member of the National Bankers Association and Georgia Bankers Association. Carver is the only bank headquartered in Savannah that is certified by the United States Treasury Department as a Community Development Financial Institution. Carver State Bank is currently one of only 28 African- American-owned commercial banks in the United States.

“This partnership with the Coastal Empire Habitat truly fits our mission and goal to be a true community bank.” stated Carver State Bank President, Robert E. James. “We are as excited to have Habitat as our neighbor as well as a friend in the community. More importantly, with this partnership, we feel we make a difference working with residents locally to improve their relationships.”
