Brian F. Murphy, chief operation officer for SCAD Group, Inc., will rejoin the SEDA Board of Directors following their unanimous approval of his nomination this morning.
The SEDA Board consists of 19 voting members with one-third appointed by the City, one-third by the County and one-third by the SEDA Board of Directors. Each appointed member serves a five-year term.
“Having worked closely with Brian during his first term on the SEDA Board, I can say unequivocally that a key position at our table has been filled, garnering the board’s unanimous approval of his nomination this morning,” remarked Tommy Hester, Chairman of the SEDA Board of Directors.
In his role at SCAD, Mr. Murphy oversees all of the support services for the Savannah College of Art and Design. These services include business and finance; student recruitment; communications; human resources; information management and technology; physical resources; recruitment and enrollment services; registration services; and student services. Prior to assuming his present role in 2000, he was the vice president for business and finance.
The Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA) is the economic development arm of Chatham County, Ga., formed to stimulate the economy through the attraction of investment, the creation of jobs and the support of established businesses already in the area.
