On Sunday, November 8, 2009, the Carrie S. Butler Women Auxiliary of Bethel A.M.E. Church will celebrate their annual day at 11 :00 a.m. The guest minister will be the Rev. Lolita Hickman of Connors Temple Baptist Church, where the Rev. Bennie R. Mitchell is the pastor.

Rev. Hickman completed seminary and was ordained into the Gospel Ministry in 2007; however, her lifelong gospel-singing ministry and her extensive work experience both within and outside the Church have contributed to her wisdom in Christian living and church leadership. To God be the Glory!

Because of her great passion for the exposition of the Word of God, and her sense of urgency concerning salvation and discipleship, Rev. Hickman has been blessed to preach and conduct Women’s Retreats and Bible Studies through the Savannah, Georgia area, as well as in Maryland, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, and Illinois.

Rev. Hickman received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Master of Science in Industrial Psychology from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, Illinois. She graduated Cum Laude from the Samuel De Witt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University (STVU), earning a Master of Divinity degree.

Rev. Hickman is married to Norval (Joe) Hickman. Natives of Illinois, and recent residents of Maryland, the Hickmans relocated to Savannah in 2007.

They are the proud parents of three adult children, and one granddaughter.

Bethel A.M.E. Church is located at 1814 East 38th Street.

Rev. Charles W. Purnell is the Pastor.
