The Atlanta Dream selected UGA’s Forward, Mackenzie Engram in the third round of the 2018 WNBA Draft. She was selected 27th overall. Engram just completed her senior season with the Georgia Lady Bulldogs. The Powder Springs, Georgia native was the 22nd Lady Bulldog to be selected in the Draft.
“She’s smart, thoughtful, caring and the perfect teammate,” Georgia head coach Joni Taylor said. “I’m thrilled for Mackenzie but also excited for the Atlanta Dream because they are getting a very special player.”
“No one stood out to us more at the ProHoops combine than Mack,” Dream coach Nicki Collen said. “Her ability to hit open 3’s, run the floor, and guard multiple positions at the defensive end makes her a great pick for us. Not only did she play at the University of Georgia, she is a local product, so we are thrilled to welcome her back to Atlanta.” During her time at UGA she was selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2015. She also averaged 12.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. During her senior year she coled the team in scoring. She was also named second-team All-SEC by the Associated Press.
The Atlanta also selected UCLA forward Monique Billings and Baylor point guard Kristy Wallace.
