Join Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church’s (UMC) Reverend Billy Hester and his wife, Cheri, as they once again lead a vow renewal ceremony at City Market in downtown Savannah. This ceremony is for all married couples and will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14.
Rev. Hester and his wife moved to Savannah in 1991 and worked with the congregation to rebuildAsbury Memo- rial UMC into a church committed to expressing the joy of God creatively. Part of the church’s mission is to spread the good news to wider audiences with innovative types of worship. Asbury Memorial UMC is also known for reaching out to the wider community.
“Cheri and I look forward to this ceremony every year,” said Rev. Hester. “We like to think that the vows of these couples are even more significant than their first, because now, after however many years of being married, they truly know what it means to love and be committed to each other.”
This vow renewal ceremony will be held in the center of the market and is free of charge for any married couple, resident or visitors to the city alike.
Asbury Memorial UMC is a Christ-centered, forward-thinking, all-embracing congregation that celebrates the joy of God creatively.
