Asbury Memorial Church Prepares For 2016 Pecan And Honey Harvest

Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church (UMC) is set to hold its third annual Pecan and Honey Harvest from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 on Madison Square, at Bull and Macon streets.

This unique event includes live entertainment, a café and general store. They’ll be selling shelled pecans in pound and halfpound bags. The South Georgia pecans, which are the meaty and flavorful Elliott variety, were donated by church member Wayne Bland. Attendees will also be able to buy and enjoy fresh baked pecan-themed desserts and candy, beverages, and local honey. The harvest is made possible by a team of helpful volunteers at Asbury, including church members Helen Downing and Pam Karacostas, who’ve been dedicating their time and talent to the event since its inception.

Asbury Memorial UMC’s mission is to provide a place where all people can develop their spirituality, use their talents, and grow in faith as they seek to love, serve, and celebrate God, each other, and the community.
