Pin Point Heritage Museum presents Art & Oysters: An Evening with Jonathan Green on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 6:00pm. The international artist will candidly discuss his passion for art and Lowcountry Culture. Green also is slated to unveil a limited edition poster exclusive to the Pin Point Heritage Museum. Art & Oyster attendees will have the pleasure of enjoying Gullah Geechee cuisine, live music, story telling with Patt Gunn plus a few more surprises.
While Art & Oysters will surely satisfy the palette of the artist, art lovers and historians alike, it will have a greater impact. According to Tania Smith-Jones, Site Administrator for the Pin Point Heritage Museum, “Jonathan Green’s presence in Savannah means the joining of two cities (Savannah and Charleston, South Carolina) that are deeply enriched with the Gullah Geechee culture. Jones is looking forward to these two cities partnering with other cities to educate and communicate the strength, endurance and perseverance of the Gullah-Geechee community.
The Pin Point Heritage Museum is an undeniable treasure that is nestled along the Moon River and makes its home in the former A.S. Varn and Son Oyster and Crab Factory. Once visitors place their feet on the oyster shelled property, they are transported to a era where strength and struggle collided in order to create a brighter future.
