Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated is honored to present the 2019- 2020 Area IV Top Lady of the Year, Lady Annette S. Mitchell.
Lady Annette had the distinction of being named Top Lady of the Year for the Savannah Chapter in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2011. She has also been named the Area IV Top Lady of the for 2006, 2008 and 2011. Other awards include, 1st place Area IV President of the Year for 2017 and 2019.
Lady Annette was inducted into the Savannah Chapter in September, 21, 1996 and has served the local chapter, area and national faithfully in many capacities. These include Chairperson for Community Beautification, Corresponding Secretary, 2nd Vice President, 1st Vice President, 2006 Area IV Leadership Conference Registration Chairperson, Area IV Community Partnership Chairperson, Area IV Political Action Chairperson, Area IV Membership Chairperson, Area IV Recording Secretary, National Co Community Partnership Chairperson, National Elections Chairperson and is currently the Area IV National Nominating Chairperson.
Currently., Lady Mitchell serves as Director of Operations of the local TLOD Chapter and was appointed Area IV Protocol Chairperson.
Lady Annette is married to Lord Abraham Mitchell, Sr. and is the proud mother of two adult children, Alana Dawson and Abraham, Jr. She has two granddaughters and is a retired educator of the Savannah Chatham County Public School System after serving for 34 years.
Lady Annette is a lifelong member of the Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church where she works with the Mission and Floral Ministries.
She is a member of Gamma Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, The National Council of Negro Women, Chatham Retired Educators Association (CREA), Georgia Retired Association of Educators (GREA), The Savannah Branch of The NAACP and Volunteer for Greenbriar Children’s Center.
