Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. MegaGenesis College/Career Fair

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Beta Phi Lambda Chapter, will be continuing its service to the community with its 13th annual MegaGenesis college/ career fair, scheduled for Saturday, February 29th, 2020 at Sol C. Johnson High School, beginning at 9am to 3pm. This is a daylong workshop, open to all public and private middle and high school students throughout Chatham and neighboring counties.

This will be MegaGenesis’s fourteenth year of activity. Started in 2007, the brainchild of retired Savannah Chatham County educator Leroy Zimmerman Ed.D (COL USA, Ret), the concept was initially used in Newport News, VA in 2000. From a first year attendance total of 400 children, MegaGenesis has grown to a maximum, in 2015, of 1,600 children in attendance (1,100 in 2018). Admissions and financial aid counselors from up to 50 different universities and colleges will be in attendance to give pertinent information to prospective students. Students are also encouraged to bring transcripts with them; in past years, some students in attendance have come with their transcripts and walked away with letters of acceptance, financial aid and scholarships. Private school students are invited and encouraged to attend as well. For more info email MEGAENESIS.savannah@gmail.com.
