Alderman Van Johnson Qualifies For Mayoral Race

 
 

Join Alderman Van Johnson on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 12 noon at Savannah City Hall, 2 East Bay Street, as he qualifies to become the 67th Mayor of the City of Savannah.

Alderman Johnson was elected as the First District Alderman to Savannah City Council in 2004, and has been re-elected 3 times by the citizens of the District. Johnson has served as Mayor Pro Tem and Vice Chairman and distinguished himself nationally by being only the 4th elected official from Savannah to serve on the board of the National League of Cities. Johnson has consistently advocated on behalf of Savannah’s citizens to promote economic growth, unity, and transparency.

Johnson believes, “the Mayor should possess compassion, ethical judgment, and above all, integrity. These are unconditional, non-negotiable fundamentals that citizens should expect in leadership.” He believes that “each community, each voice and each selfless act of Savannah’s citizens make our City stronger.” With over 15 years of proven leadership, Van Johnson is ready to begin working as your Mayor!

Election day is Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Early voting begins October 14, 2019.
