The Sigma Tau Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated on Armstrong Atlantic State University’s campus, received several awards during the 60th South Atlantic Regional Conference, April 17- 21, 2013 in North Charleston, South Carolina..

The weekend started on Thursday, April 18th when Sigma Tau Chapter was recognized and received a certificate at the Educational Advancement Foundation (EAF) Luncheon for supporting the 2013 South Atlantic Region EAF Shoe Rally. On April 19th at the Mary Shy Scott Leadership Breakfast, Patrese Jackson was recognized for serving as Chapter President.

One of the highlights of the Conference was the Undergraduate Awards Luncheon. Amber Brown of Sigma Tau Chapter was the co-chairman of the luncheon. This luncheon spotlights the accomplishments of the undergraduates and their chapters in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. Tiffany Grant, South Atlantic Regional Representative on the Undergraduate Activities Committee was the dynamic speaker. Patrese Jackson, Demetra Squires and Amber Brown represented Sigma Tau Chapter on the program. Audrey Barnes Singleton, Graduate Advisor, and Sharon Stallings, Assistant Graduate Advisor were recognized at the luncheon. The Awards Presentation was last on the agenda. This is the part of the luncheon that all undergraduates wait for. Sigma Tau members were anxious because they entered four awards and wanted to know the results. The results: Sigma Tau Chapter won all four awards!

Sigma Tau Chapter is under the guidance of Mrs. Audrey Barnes Singleton and Mrs. Sharon B. Stallings of Gamma Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
