The young men of A.S.P.I.R.E. of DeRenne Middle School organized a successful canned food drive for needy families, which began on November 9 and ended on November 23.

Over 500 cans were collected from the students, faculty, and staff of DeRenne Middle School and donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank. The goal was to make the Thanksgiving holiday a better one for families.

In past community service projects, A.S.P.I.R.E. has partnered with the Make A Wish Foundation to bring about awareness of their Kids For Wish Kids Program which grants the wishes of extremely sick children in our area. Through this continued partnership, A.S.P.I.R.E. has raised over $1500 in support of this worthwhile program.

A.S.P.I.R.E is an organization at DeRenne Middle School that seeks to enhance the overall well-being of its members through exposure to programs, workshops, lectures, discussion groups, and activities that focuses on promoting positive decisionmaking, social responsibility, physical wellness, community involvement, and academic achievement.

There are currently 25 young men in the A.S.P.I.R.E. program.
