Alfred Ely Beach High School Class of 1964 celebrated their Golden Anniversary with a very enjoyable Reunion. The celebration began Friday, June 20th with a Meet and Greet at the beautiful new Beach High School. Approximately 70 1964 graduates and their guests, reminisced on their days at Beach 50 years ago. Saturday, June 21st was highlighted with a banquet at Savannah State University New Student Center Ballrooms A&B planned for 135 participants. The speaker for this event was Judge Herbert Dixon, Judge of Superior Court of the District of Columbia, a ’64 graduate. The spotlight was on our only living Senior Advisor, Mrs. Kay Frances Perdue, who now resides in Atlanta, GA (seated in the center of class picture).
She made our Reunion feel complete. Retired Instructor Lester (Chief) Johnson was an honored guest and made some positive remarks about this Class. The evening was full of joyous reunions, picture taking, slides from previous reunions, retreats, Christmas celebrations, and recognition for the planning and execution of the 50th Reunion by the local classmates.
The culmination of the reunion included worshiping at Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church, and after worshipping together, lunch at The Pirates’ House. Words cannot express the joy/sentiment A. E. Beach Class of ’64 shared for three (3) days.
