The mighty 1969 class of Alfred Ely Beach High School celebrated its 50th Reunion in grand style from June 13th through the 16th, 2019. The celebration began with a Meet and Greet at Elinor’s Place. There the class members from across the country met and shared memories and stories about what they had been during for the past fifty years.
On Friday, the class members met at Beach High School to take a guided grand tour. Many of the fifty three classmates who participated in the reunion had not seen nor visited the new school. On Friday night, the class members attended a banquet and dance at the International Longshoremen’s Association Banquet Hall.
Saturday was a day of fun for class members and their families with a picnic at Skidaway Island State Park. To culminate the reunion, the class worshipped and dined with classmate Lavern Keitt Taylor at the Temple of Glory Community Church.
The leadership team for the reunion was class president Rev. Jerome Baker, Annette Mitchell, Omie Flournoy, Patricia Baldwin, Patricia Furman, Paul Hudson, Elinor Jones, Carrie Manigo, Betty Phoenix and Shirley White.
