5th Annual ‘When Is The Debt Paid?’ Conference – Saturday, October 3

Successful reintegration of released prisoners continues to be problematic in our society. In Georgia, 2 out of every 3 released prisoners are rearrested within 3 years! When formerly incarcerated persons return to our communities, many are denied employment, housing, voting rights, etc. because of their felonies. Justice Impacted persons need assistance connecting to resources designed to assist them with successful community reintegration.

The 5th Annual ‘When Is The Debt Paid?’ Conference is designed to do just that. For the past four years between 80-100 Justice Impacted persons have attended the conference each year and have left inspired, motivated, informed, and with tangible items to assist with their transition into society. The evaluative feedback has been exemplary. This year’s Conference will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020. This free conference is packed with relevant information, inspirational speakers, and valuable insight to help citizens with criminal histories successfully navigate through community supervision, family challenges, negative peer pressure, employment/housing rejection, etc. In addition to receiving continental breakfast and lunch, attendees will hear from Keynote Speaker Jermaine Wilson, former Mayor of Leavenworth, KS. Rufus and Jenny Triplett of Atlanta will share from their book From Inmate to Entrepreneur. All speakers have experienced prison and have successfully reintegrated into society. Local survivors of incarceration who have successfully reintegrated in our community will share their experience and wisdom and representatives from Georgia Legal Services will answer questions and provide ‘next step’ guidance.
