2016-2017 ChathamCounty Youth Commission Sworn In!


 
 

Friday, September 9, 2016, during the Chatham County Commission meeting, the Honorable Al Scott, Chairman and Dr. Priscilla D. Thomas, Vice Chair, of the Chatham County Commission gave the oath of office to 33 Chatham County Youth Commissioners, appointing them to serve as the representatives of youth of Chatham County. 16 of these young people are new candidates and 17 are returning for another term.

“While many of the over 600 graduates of the Chatham County Youth Commission hold titles such as doctor, lawyer, military officer, judge, teacher and professional, all of our graduates hold the title of high school graduate and law abiding, self-sustaining citizen,” says, Alderman Van Johnson, Director. He adds, “Raising responsible young people does not happen by accident, it happens by purpose, on purpose.”

The names of the 2016-2017 Youth Commission are:
