Join us for the 11th Annual Student Success Expo and STEM Festival on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the Savannah Mall from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. In addition to college and career information, attendees will enjoy interactive displays and learn about all public school options across the district while gaining valuable information related to program pathways.
The Expo will once again feature the “Teddy Bear Clinic” which focuses on the Healthcare Science fields and showcases a collaboration between the school district and local healthcare professions and post-secondary institutions. The 2020 Student Success Expo Planning Committee is also excited to announce the continuation of the Young Entrepreneurs and Young Inventors Showcase! The purpose of this showcase is to spotlight students in our schools who have an entrepreneurial spirit or who have invented products that make everyday life better. We want to showcase any student with a business – perhaps their own lemonade stand, jewelry line, cupcake business, event planning business, or is a budding cosmetologist who braids hair or designs nails. Come meet our young inventors!
Students and parents will find a wide range of educational pathways that are sure to inspire the thirst for knowledge and higher learning. District program highlights include: Performing Arts, Engineering, Welding, Aviation, Cosmetology, (Hair, Nails and Barbering), Culinary, Medical & Allied Health, Construction, Automotive Repair and Collision, Public Safety, and Logistics – just to name a few. Students will also have an opportunity to speak with representatives major colleges and universities!
The Savannah Chatham County Public School System’s Choice Program Application process will also kick-off at the Expo. Parents will be able to apply on-site for the Choice school or program that meets their child’s interest (SY 20-21). Applications will be accepted through Friday, January 31, 2021.
The Student Success Expo and STEM Festival is a signature event for the District and continues to draw thousands of participants each year to learn about the seamless transition from elementary, middle, and high school to post-secondary education. The event helps make the connection between our programs of study and college and career options through information available at school, collegiate, and business displays. The event will include student competitions, interactive booth displays, a robotics competition, and prize giveaways. Admission and parking is free and open to the public.
