Savannah Chapter #159 Order of Eastern Star, Prince Hall, will celebrate its 100th Anniversary on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Prince Hall Masonic Building located at 602 East Broad Street, Savannah, GA. The celebration will begin at 5:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, and officers from around the state are expected to attend. The organizational charter for Savannah Chapter #159 was granted at the Grand Chapter meeting in Atlanta, Georgia on August 12, 1912. The chapter membership has increased steadily during the past 100 years and currently has 6 members who have achieved the honorary life membership status with 35 years or more of continuous membership.

The Order of the Eastern Star is an organization comprised of women and men, dedicated to charity, truth and loving kindness. Savannah Chapter #159 continues to be an active chapter in the work of the Order of the Eastern Star as members of Savannah Chapter #159 volunteer individually in many local organizations and collectively the chapter supports many different local charities and educational projects. Sis. Diane Mikell serves as the current Worthy Matron and Bro. Rufus Smalls serves as the current Worthy Patron.
