The Savannah State football alumni family lost two members recently with the deaths of John Eric McCoy and Eric Simmons. McCoy, 57, died on May 28 at Northside Hospital in Lawrenceville, Georgia while Simmons, 64, died on June 3 at The Resorts in Pooler. Both were known by their nicknames to teammates and friends.
