MLK Jr. Observance Day Association Selects Theme Winners and Parade Application Deadline

The Martin Luther King Jr. Observance Day Association’s Education Committee has announced its selection of the 2013 Celebration Theme winners:

1st Place Winner “DREAMERS ARE BELIEVERS AND BELIVERS BECOME ACHIEVERS” Sierra Vincent 7th Grade, Oglethorpe Academy.

2nd Place Winner “UNIFY AMERICA BY KEEPING THE DREAMER’S DREAM ALIVE” Sierra DeJesus, 7th Grade, Oglethorpe Academy

3rd Place Winner “HONOR YOUR PAST; CHANGE YOUR TODAY, MAKE A DIFFERENT FUTURE” Kristen Adams 7th Grade, Bible Baptist School

Parade Applications can be picked up at the MLK Office at 1206 MLK, Jr. Blvd., or online at www.mlkingsavannah.com and through our Facebook page at: MLK Observance Day. Like us on Facebook to receive the latest news and updates on the parade and other 2013 MLK Savannah activities.

Applications can also be picked up at the “West Broad Street YMCA, The office of the Herald and Tribune, and the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum. Please Note: The deadline for receiving parade applications is Friday, November 30, 2012.
