CAT Responds to Safety Incident
Chatham Area Transit (CAT) is committed to the safety and security of our customers and has taken dramatic steps to improve our system’s safety and security infrastructure. We have deployed state of the art CCTV and emergency response systems, and trained our employees on situational awareness and critical incident response.
An incident was reported by local television affiliates on Thursday, January 19, 2012, that represented an isolated incident. CAT officials cooperated with the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department and made the recording available to them as part of our ongoing partnership with the police department and our commitment to safety. This technology and commitment demonstrates that our new systems are working and are effective in our ongoing safety and security programs.
Chatham Area Transit will continue its quest providing safe and reliable transportation to all of our customers while continuing to implement and improve safety measures and programs for the safety of the public; we are committed to that.
