“Dollars for Disasters” Week Kicks off to Benefit American Red Cross
On Monday January 23rd, over 30 Savannah Chatham County Public Schools will be doing their part to help others in the 6th annual “Dollars for Disasters Week” to benefit the Savannah American Red Cross. The campaign, also supported by Domino’s Pizza, runs for one week beginning on January 23rd and ending on January 27th, with all funds raised during the week going to help victims of local disasters like home fires. Each year students from the participating schools set a goal to give one dollar during the week. “Students learn that their dollar added to the dollars of their fellow students will add up to make a big difference in our community,” said Dr. Quentina Miller- Fields, American Red Cross Board Member and Dollars for Disasters Campaign Chair.
