Richfield Missionary to Celebrate Founder’s Day

The public is cordially invited to worship with the members of Richfiled Missionary Baptist Church, 1415 Arcadian St. in Savannah. The celebration will begin August 20-22, 2010. The celebration will also recognize the 59 years of dedicated christian service of Pastor Johnnie F. Powers, Jr. On Friday, August 20, service will begin at 7:30 p.m.with Rev. Sammie Gordon as speaker. Sunday, August 22, at 11 a.m. there will be a special program. Richfield Baptist Church will hold Sunday School at 10 a.m. followed by the morning service at 11 a.m. Richfield Baptist Church was founded by Rev. Johnnie F. Powers, Jr. It was organized August 23, 1968, by the late Rev. J.M. Benton, pastor of Tremont Temple Baptist Church. Contemporary church history was made in the Richfield subdivision when Rev. Powers designed and built a new sanctuary with the help of Almighty God, members and friends. The building was errected between 1977-1984 and dedicated February 5, 1984. The dedication was performed by the late Rev. George J. Faison, pastor of Tremont Temple Baptist Church. The theme is “Let’s Build Together by Faith in Jesus Christ.” Everyone is welcome to join the Richfield family for this occasion.
